Rainbow Sea 03:11
Are you a monkey Are you a bear Are you a mole in the back of the lair Are you a dolphin Are you a whale Are you a barnacle on the tail? Are you the stars Are you the sea Are you a part of me? Oh you, you little mystery You came across the rainbow sea Heard your name in a prophecy and Travelled here to meet me When I held you in my arms My heart extended to the stars You are forever part of me In a never ending story Are you a redwood Are you a spruce Are you a furry antler on a moose Are you the sunshine Are you the rain Are you the wings on a swooping crane Are you a carrot Are you a pea Are you a part of me Oh you, you little mystery You came across the rainbow sea Heard your name in a prophecy and Travelled here to meet me When I held you in my arms My heart extended to the stars You are forever part of me In a never ending story You are forever part of me In a never-ending story In a never-ending story In a never-ending story

When the mountain Touches the Valley All the clouds are taught to fly Thus our souls Will leave this land Most peacefully Though our minds be filled with questions In our hearts we’ll understand When the river meets the sea Like a flower that has blossomed In the dry and barren sand We are born and born again so gracefully Thus the winds of time will take us With a sure and steady hand When the river meets the sea Patience, my brothers And patience, my son In that sweet and final hour Truth and justice will be done Like a baby when it is sleeping In its loving mother’s arms What a newborn baby dreams Is a mystery But his life will find a purpose And in time he’ll understand When the river meets the sea When the river meets the almighty sea

about

While I was birthing my son Emet, all I could do was sing. I knew from very early on that music was a shared language of our souls. Since that day, a collection of songs have come through, inspired by the journey of early motherhood--silly, soulful, sleep-deprived, and everything in between. I recorded them over the last two years and they are now ready to be shared with you.

My intention when creating this album was to capture the memories and love of these early years while also supporting other young parents to remember the joy even when they are in the most grueling and painful moments of becoming new parents in our modern world. I hope these songs will resonate with everyone, as a balm of peace and remembrance of the preciousness of life.
