Moonrise 03:22
The moon is risin’ in the sky The stars are twinklin’ in my eyes When the fire from the sun, melts into the one The night slowly arrives

I once went a walking Hopin' to find my way I had so many questions I was hopin’ that you could close the case Is it too much to ask For some peace of mind Is it too much to ask For some holy sign That everything is gonna be alright That everything is gonna be okay Cuz oh this world It won’t last too long Will they say Those were the good old days Oh this world It won’t last too long Will they say Those were the good old days I once went a walking Oh with you by my side Talkin’ about havin’ a family And livin’ a long happy life Well is it too much to ask For some peace of mind Is it too much to ask For some holy sign That everything is gonna be alright That everything is gonna be okay Cuz oh this world It won’t last too long Will they say Those were the good old days Oh this world It won’t last too long Will they say Those were the good old days

Be Longing 05:25
Dont Ask Don’t Tell Don’t Look Don’t See Don’t Breathe Don’t Love Don’t Feel Don’t Remember Don’t Breathe Don’t Love Don’t Forgive And Don’t Recover I am my own nightmare sometimes Are you your own nightmare sometimes? Be who you were really meant to be When you look out at your life and See who you were really meant to see When you look in the mirror Shoots are sprouting up all the time From underneath the darkness of your mind Now I know I’ve been wondering When’s it all gonna change The sleeping giant awoke from the thunder And now he’s filled with raaaaage So get up off your high horse And let it ride on into the sun Now is the time to use your voice It doesn’t matter if it’s already done You’re one of the stars You’re a grain of sand You walk along the water with your feet on the land And if you don’t feel like You have a place Among all the people in the human race Then belong, belong, be longing to belong And be strong, be strong, be longing to be strong And if you don’t feel like You have a place Among all the beings on the earthly plane Then belong, belong, be longing to belong And be strong, be strong, be longing to be strong Dont Ask Don’t Tell Don’t Look Don’t See Don’t Breathe Don’t Love Don’t Feel Don’t Remember Don’t Breathe Don’t Love Don’t Forgive And Don’t Recover I am my own nightmare sometimes Are you your own nightmare sometimes? Well get up off your high horse And let it ride on into the sun Now is the time to use your voice It doesn’t matter if it’s already done You’re one of the stars You’re a grain of sand You walk along the water with your feet on the land And if you don’t feel like You have a place Among all the people in the human race Then belong, belong, be longing to belong And be strong, be strong, be longing to be strong And if you don’t feel like You have a place Among all the beings on the earthly plane Then belong, belong, be longing to belong And be strong, be strong, be longing to be strong And if you don’t feel like you have a place Among all the people in the human race Then belong, belong, be longing to belong And if you don’t feel like You have a place Among all the beings on the earthly plane Then belong, belong, be longing to belong

Privilege 05:04
What does it mean to be free from these prison walls? And what is the cost of separating myself from you? And is this privilege an illusion, created by the masterminds of resistance to change And if I was born to believe I was special, was I really just locked in a special cage And who really has the sickness Could this be what I have been avoiding all along And how come I can’t remember where it is, that I come from? Wooahhh How can we build this bridge over historical severance of centuries old If this struggle is not my own, I outta hear the stories I’d never been told If this struggle is not my own, I outta look at what I own If this struggle is not my own, then this land is not my home Woaahhh (Spoken Word) Open up and read the pages, of our human family book Slavery and massacre, its hard to take a look The war began, we don’t know why But it just keeps going, an eye for an eye It’s in our blood it’s in our bones, it broils and it brews Yet something like love is born in every baby new The war lives on if we live in denial The pain’s inside if we don’t grieve and reconcile There are ways, we’ve seen it done before Like South Africa after apartheid pain was heard and not ignored Honesty, forgiveness, we all want to heal And especially me, white folks, we have to keep it real What’s come before, it’s not my fault But do I uphold this whiteness cult? I reclaim my power, by knowing my culture And not by stealing other’s spirits like a vulture I am like a swan, a graceful bird in white I am equally the raven weaving spells through the night Let’s talk about it: race, and the shame I feel in my face The time I left my friend in the dust so I could win the race This is not a fairytale, this is not a ritual This is a worldwide illusion being brought to its funeral There is no human with more or less worth Like no grain of sand that deserves less to be on this Earth And I’m sorry for all of the hurt I’ve caused And I swear on the graves of my ancestors I will work to see it undone How can we build this bridge over historical severance of centuries old If this struggle is not my own, I outta hear the stories I’d never been told If this struggle is not my own, I outta look at what I own If this struggle is not my own, then this land is not my home Woahhhhhhhhhh

Keep your head above the water my daughter Keep your head above the water my son Listen to the wild, wild voice when she calls you Cause the river current is runnin’ strong Listen to the wisdom of your body Listen to the wisdom of your soul Listen to the wild, wild voice when she calls you Cause the river current is runnin’ strong When you made your prayers on the river bank Angels made a plan A course for you to follow your dreams Now the river beckons you in

People We are breathing Earth Her heart is beating So STOP In the name of love STOP this madness In the name of freedom STOP In the name of truth ‘Cause we’re birds of the night We’re takin’ flight We’ll fly through the dawn ‘Cause we’re movin’ on Yeah we’re movin’ on We’ve got the wind at our back This is a sacred act And we’ll fly through the dawn ‘Cause we’re movin' on Yeah we’re movin’ on Storms been comin’ in for a long long time I know you’ve seen it comin’ but it somehow blows your mind Storms been comin’ in for a long long time I know you’ve seen it comin’ but it somehow blows your mind Patience Wade through the water Patience Sing through the storm ‘Cause we’re birds of the night We’re takin’ flight we’ll fly through the dawn ‘Cause we’re movin’ on Yeah we’re movin’ on We’ve got the wind at our back This is a sacred act And we’ll fly through the dawn ‘Cause we’re movin on Yeah we’re movin’ on Yeah we’re movin’, movin’, movin’ on (Spoken Word by Maria Xiomara Dorsey) La sabiduria anciana de que la pachamama esta viva trascienda el peso de la vida cotidiana transformando el lodo que nos cubre en oro liquido deslizandose como acete por nuestras plumas gotas brillantes que atrapan los ojos mientras nos elevamos hacia el sol creando los vientos de cambio con la fuerza de nuestras alas People We are breathing Earth Her heart is beating So STOP In the name of love STOP this madness In the name of freedom STOP In the name of truth ‘Cause we’re birds of the night We’re takin’ flight we’ll fly through the dawn ‘Cause we’re movin’ on Yeah we’re movin’ on We’ve got the wind at our back This is a sacred act And we’ll fly through the dawn ‘Cause we’re movin on Yeah we’re movin’ on Yeah we’re movin’, movin’, movin’ on….. The seeds are dreaming Poems yet untold A Stillness in time The universe unfolds Blessed are beautiful Shrines for me In my holy temple Love will be Mmmmmmmm In my holy temple Love will be There is no greater mouth than the one who speaks in song There is no greater song than the one we all belong to There is no greater belonging than the Earth in which we breathe There is no greater breathe, than the life in a seed Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai In my holy temple love will be

What can I give Not what can I gain It’s time to live a new story And let go of the pain Ask What Can I Give Not what can I gain Ohhh The rat race is over This was not a winning game Are your really happy Just living for yourself Or do you dream of something more They’ve got us pitted against each other But who do you think that’s for? They can’t control a people who aren't divided anymore So ask What can I give Not what can I gain, Ohh It’s time to live a new story And let go of the pain Ask What Can I Give Not what can I gain, Ohh The rat race is over This was not a winning game Oh this American dream It never really was a dream was it Born on the back of slavery Born on the killing of a wholesome people Founded on takin’ whatever you want Founded on white men calling the calls Founded on black men behind bars Founded on women hidin’ their scars This is not it This is not it This is not it This is not all who we are This is not it This is not it This is not it This is not all who we are So ask What can I give Not what can I gain ooh It’s time to live a new story And let go of the pain Ask What Can I Give Not what can I gain Ohh The rat race is over This was not a winning game It’s time to live a new story Close this book Bow to the pain It’s time to live a new story Release the shame It’s time to live a new story Don’t ask what can I gain It’s time to live a new story And ask, what can I Give? What can I give? What can I give? what can I give? what can I give? what can I give? what can I give? what can I give? woahhhhhh what can I give? what can I what can I give?

about

We will fly through the dawn because we are MOVING ON. And because that is what we, the Birds of the Night, are here to do. We are here to say NO MORE destruction to this precious planet and all her beings. We are here to sing a story of fierce hope, healing and reconciliation.

These songs range from ritualistic prayer songs to lyrical folk-pop to hip-hop dance grooves. They weave stories on critical topics including race, climate, hope, hopelessness, and belonging.

"While there are many artists out there making a lot of noise without much to say, you’ll be able to find Jen Myzel’s distinctive sound on the other side of the coin. The Californian artist is perceptibly gifted when it comes to orchestrating uplifting and empowering soundscapes. Not by utilizing abrasively ‘happy’ tones, but meditatively easing you into a better mind space with compellingly conscious lyrical wisdom."- Review by AnR Factory

Thank you for listening and I pray that this music is medicine to your heart and soul in these unprecedented times.
